Following is a list of people that I couldn’t have done this without.
Errol and Anne:
Errol is a pilot I used to fly with previously during my time in Zambia. He and his partner Anne very kindly put up with me for three weeks during my training at Skyriders waking up at 5.30am each morning to let me out of the gate at his beautiful house at Fly Inn Estate on the outskirts of Johannesburg.
Farnie and Mervyn at Skyriders
Both extremely experienced with a boatload of great stories Farnie and Mervyn are two instructors at the fabulous flight school – Skyriders. Based at Microland on the outskirts of Joburg this school is excellently positioned to take a student with no trike experience all the way through to sitting the flight exam for the Recreation Aviation Administration of South Africa (RAASA) National Pilots license. With a teaching style that inspires confidence combined with practical skills I could not have completed the license so quickly without these two’s expert guidance.
Trevor Davids
Trevor is a next door neighbour of Errol who I met the first day in South Africa around a neighbourhood briai who is both an expetional pilot and just an all around nice guy who always goes out of his way to help others. An owner of a Light Sports aircraft and building an RV12, I bought the trike from him.
